Exciting news! BIO-UPTAKE is joining forces with a European project through a promising new partnership.

🎯BioStruct is a European project aiming to develop manufacturing processes to boost the use of bio-based fibre-reinforced composites for structural applications.

🔎The project addresses the current challenges associated with using bio-composites in structural components and broadens the scope of applications for bio-composites, by :
✅ Developing an accurate draping process to control fibre orientation
✅ Creating material models to capture natural variability
✅ Integrating nano-structured bio-based sensors for load monitoring

To achieve these goals, the project has outlined specific objectives and focuses on 2 main outcomes :
-a full-size rotor blade
-a ship hull with spars

Co-funded by the European Union, the project gathers 10 partners from 6 different countries :
