Bio-Uptake Featured in a Scientific & Industrial Journal
Today, we’re proud to highlight the publication of an article dedicated to Bio-Uptake in a specialised journal, showcasing the project’s vision, technological innovations and impact on European manufacturing
The article presents how Bio-Uptake addresses one of the major challenges facing industry today: combining sustainability with high-performance and digitally enabled manufacturing. It outlines our modular approach based on bio-based intermediate formats, such as organosheets, tapes and pellets and how these solutions are deployed across three key value chains: construction, medical and packaging.
It also highlights:
The integration of advanced manufacturing processes adapted to bio-based materials.
The role of digital tools (simulation, in-line monitoring, quality control) in ensuring reliability and scalability.
The project’s strong commitment to circularity, training and standardisation.
Real demonstrators proving that bio-based composites can meet industrial and environmental requirements.
This publication is an important step in disseminating Bio-Uptake’s results beyond the consortium and contributing to the wider discussion on the future of sustainable manufacturing in Europe.
